In partnership with Grant, Central, and Lincoln High Schools in Portland, Oregon, AUCF is proud to welcome Julius to the U.S., and to host the Achon Uganda High School Track Meet on May 23, 4:30-6:00 at Grant High School!
With support from our friends at Nike Running, students from these three schools will hear from Julius himself, and then will engage in some light competition (this is right after the end of their competitive season!).
ALL runners of all abilities (including you!) are invited to join us for the all-comes 1500M at 4:45, followed by distance medley and 4x400 relays for the high school athletes.

As part of Julius’ visit to the U.S., our friends at Nike Running will host a mini-track meet May 23 at 4:30 at Grant High School in Portland, OR.
The “meet” will pull together athletes from Lincoln, Grant, and Central High Schools, and includes an “all-comers” 1500, plus mixed and mile relays for the high schoolers.

This May, AUCF invites our supporters to take on a new challenge on behalf of Kristina Health Center’s maternity services.
By joining The Mother Run, you’ll commit to running, walking, riding, or otherwise moving at least five kilometers every day in May. As you do so, you’ll raise money for and awareness of the pressing need to make pregnancy and childbirth safer in Uganda — and of KHC’s significant impact in addressing this need.

Very exciting news…Julius has been invited to speak at the Global Leadership Summit, held annually in Davos, Switzerland, and hosted by global education organization EF.
We are thrilled that he will have this opportunity to tell his word to thousands of young people from around the world, and to spread the word about AUCF’s important work — and to run with some of those young people in a spectacular setting!
We will keep you posted as this exciting opportunity develops. For now, we are ever grateful to EF!
In November 2019, five Australian supporters, led by Pat Farmer, former Minister of Parliament, ran 500 kilometers relay-style from Entebbe to Lira, Uganda.
They were joined by AUCF’s own Julius Achon, and were greeted along their route by cheering fans. Entering into Lira, home base for AUCF’s operations, they were met by hundreds of supporters on foot and on two wheels. The effort raised over $80,000 for Kristina Health Center and Cents For Seeds!

We’re pleased to announce that Julius will visit the U.S. in early October.
At this point we’re figuring out his itinerary. We believe he will visit Portland, Seattle, and the Bay Area.

We’re looking forward to hosting Julius in the States — and we’re happy to announce that for the first time, he’ll be visiting one of the U.S.’ great running cities, Boston!
While in Boston Julius will visit our new friends from EF, the global education company, whose annual Summit Julius will attend next summer. This year he will take the opportunity to raise awareness of AUCF’s work among EF employees — and, of course, go for a run with them!
After Boston, Julius will visit Seattle, and then Portland — for the Portland Marathon! (Julius will be running the half, as part of our Run With Julius campaign.
